1. Introduction

The core contents of thermochromic microcapsule are leuco-dye, color developers and temperature controllers. By formulated with different temperature controllers, thermochromic products come in various activation temperatures.
2. Product Description
A. Color Conversion: When the temperature is raised to a specified temperature, it goes from colored to colorless. It returns to the original color as the temperature cools down.

B. Available Activation Temperatures: –15℃ ~ 70℃
C. Color: 15 available colors for each activation temperature. All colors can be mixed with each other or added other pigments.

THERMOCROMIC
B. Thermochromic Slurry
a. Product Description
THERMOCROMIC Thermochromic slurry is aqueous dispersion containing microcapsules and 48% of solid content. Its average particle size of the slurry is 3-7µm.
b. Properties
THERMOCROMIC Good dispersal in water, suitable for aqueous based screen printing, paint, and ink.
c. Recommended Concentrations
THERMOCROMIC For aqueous based ink/paint 5%~60% w/w(25%) 
(For the best result, about 25% concentration is required for 20µm film thickness)
d. General Recommendations
THERMOCROMIC Avoid high polarity solvents, such as, methanol, ethanol, acetone and methyl-ethyl-ketone, which will affect the microcapsules' content through permeation.
THERMOCROMIC Slurry may clump together during storage, which can be heated with a double boiler to disperse.
THERMOCROMIC Changes of PH may cause changes of color conversion.
C. Thermochromic Microcapsulated Powder
a. Product Description
THERMOCROMIC Consist of multiple formulations, containing moisture ≦ 3%. Its average particle size is 3-12µm.
b. Properties
THERMOCROMIC With good solvent resistance and dispersal, thermochromic microcapsulated powder can withstand processing temperatures up to240°C, suitable for ink/paint and plastic injection/extrusion.
c. Recommended Concentrations
THERMOCROMIC For solvent/ aqueous based ink/paint 5%~30% w/w(25%) 
(For the best result, about 25% concentration is required for 20µm film thickness)
THERMOCROMIC For plastic injection/extrusion 0.1% ~5% w/w(0.5%) 
(For the best result, about 0.5% concentration is required for 0.2cm plastic thickness)
d. General Recommendations
THERMOCROMIC Avoid high polarity solvents, such as methanol, ethanol, acetone and methyl ethyl ketone, which will affect the microcapsules' content through permeation.
THERMOCROMIC The processing temperature of injection molding should not be over 240℃.
D. Thermochromic Masterbatch
a. Product Description
THERMOCROMIC NCC thermochromic masterbatch contains 12%-18% of microcapsules depending on the different color formulations.
b. Properties
THERMOCROMIC Dispersed and used easily, can be directly applied to plastic injection/extrusion.
c. Recommended Concentrations
THERMOCROMIC For plastic injection/extrusion 1% ~5% w/w(0.5%) 
(For the best result, about 0.5% concentration is required for 0.2cm plastic thickness)
d. General Recommendations
THERMOCROMIC Standard masterbatch is PE masterbatch. Please check the properties of PE for applications.
THERMOCROMIC Do not add phenol type heat stabilizers only, which may destroy the color changing properties.
THERMOCROMIC UV stabilizer/absorbent may affect the color changing properties.

Chart of color change to temperatures: Exp. 31℃ Red.

THERMOCROMIC When temperatures is going up to 26.5℃, red color begins fading. The color completely disappears at 33℃.
THERMOCROMIC When temperatures is going down to 27.5℃, red color begins appearing. The color strongest at 22℃.
THERMOCROMIC Please note each color has its specific activation temperatures. The heat conduction speed of base materials does affect the thermochromic products' reactions to temperatures.

A. Storage: Keep sealed in a dark, cool place, away from direct sunlight. Best within two years.
B. Safe for food grade packing and toys.
